Mini Goal Slot Review

Considering the fact that it is the most popular sport in the world with hundreds of millions of fans from every corner of the globe there are surprisingly few football-themed slot games around. In fact, there are not a huge amount of sports related video slots found on online casinos at all. There are some however and there are also some football ones. Net Entertainment’s Mini Goal is one of those and was released to coincide with this summer’s samba-style World Cup which took place in Brazil, the football fans’ Mecca. You will find Mini Goal on all casinos in the Net Entertainment stable, and also on many of those that offer a selection of Net Entertainment video slots to complement those of their principle casino gaming software provider.

Mini Goal is a pretty simple video slot in terms of graphics. On the face of it the game is nothing particularly special. The sound effects are relatively simple. Between spins there is no soundtrack, which I personally prefer. Continuous background music and sounds can be too much. When you spin the reels this is accompanied by a crescendo-ing football stadium wall of sound which culminates in a roar of ‘Goaaaal’, whenever you strike upon a winning combination.

The graphics are simple but colourful and the symbols are a traditional base of 9 through to Ace as well as football-themed symbols such as a ref’s whistle, shirt, assistant referee’s flag, goalkeeping gloves, a football and, of course, at the pinnacle of the hierarchy, a gleaming piece of silverware.

Format and Gameplay

Mini Goal is based on a standard 5-reel video slot format with 20 paylines. The betting level starts at £0.05 per payline or £1 per spin when all the paylines are active. Free spins feature heavily in this game and on my second try on the free play version of the game I was awarded 10 free spins with a x3 multiplier. I managed to secure another 20 free spins from triggering Scatter symbols during my first few spins and by the end of the bonus round had amassed close to £80 in winnings at the lowest betting level. I almost wished I’d been playing for real money as that would have been a very tasty win indeed!

I can recommend this game to anyone who is a slots fan and especially those who are also keen on football. You’ll find the game at NetEnt casinos such as Betsson and Mr Green.
